“On Friday, the 16th of October, police officers were monitoring an unregistered rally in the area of the centre of Ljubljana. From 7 p.m. onwards, several hundred protesters gathered on several streets in the centre of Ljubljana, and they then walked and cycled through the streets to the Republic Square. Police officers were performing the tasks of protecting the National Assembly, maintaining public law and order, ensuring the safety of the protesters, regulating traffic, and monitoring compliance with the Ordinance on the temporary general prohibition of gathering and movement of people in public spaces, areas, and cities in the Republic of Slovenia.
While monitoring the rally, the police detected a violation of the Public Gatherings Act, two violations of the Protection of Public Order Act, and also seized pyrotechnics and cold weapons. They detected 33 violations of the Ordinance on the temporary general prohibition of gathering and movement of people in public spaces, areas, and cities in the Republic of Slovenia, and they will inform the competent inspectorate about the violations accordingly.
They will continue to collect information about the event and will act in accordance with the law in the event of additional detected offenses or criminal offenses.”
