[Public opinion poll] Majority of the respondents believe that the actions of the opposition politicians against the coronavirus measures are harmful!

Datum:

According to the public opinion poll, conducted by the Parsifal agency, more than half of the respondents believe that the behaviour of the opposition politicians is harmful. Their opinion relates to the opposition MPs’ arrogance regarding the use of the Stay Healthy app, which records the contacts of the infected; and to their calls against wearing protective masks in schools. Only a fifth of the respondents believe that the conduct of the opposition is normal, while just over eight percent believe that the conduct of the opposition is correct.

The Parsifal agency conducted a public opinion poll for Nova24TV, in which it asked the respondents whether they find the behaviour of the opposition politicians harmful. The poll was conducted over the phone, on a sample of 730 respondents, between the 2nd and 4th November, and it included adult respondents from all over Slovenia.

More than half of the respondents (57.2 percent) believe that the behaviour of the opposition politicians who did not download the Stay Healthy app and called for the abolition of wearing masks in schools is harmful. 20.3 percent of the respondents believe that such behaviour is normal for the opposition, while only 8.6 percent believe that such behaviour is correct.

More women (57.9 percent) than men (56.6 percent) believe that the actions of the opposition MPs are harmful, and a slightly higher percentage of women also think that the actions of the opposition are correct (9.1 percent). The actions of the opposition politicians who called for non-compliance with the measures are perceived as harmful by a higher proportion of people over the age of 55 (62.8 percent), however, in the youngest age group, between 18 and 34 years old, the proportion of people who perceive these actions as harmful is the lowest of all the groups (44.8 percent).

The highest percentage of those who believe that the actions of the opposition politicians are harmful is among the respondents with completed high school (59.7 percent). And in general, a higher percentage of those who believe that the behaviour of the opposition is harmful, is among those with completed high school education. A higher percentage of people aged between 18 and 34 (11 percent) and those with completed high education or higher (11.6 percent) believe that the behaviour of the opposition is correct.

Due to harmful influences, including of those from the opposition, the Slovenians are paying a death tax
In recent months, we have witnessed the influence of the so-called influencers, the opposition politicians and the protesters, inspired by the left, to oppose the measures and publicly express the view that the safeguards do not need to be adhered to. The media even supported the protests. The key tax on the irresponsible behaviour has thus been shown in the high number of infections and the hospitals running out of beds for the sick, as over 1,200 COVID-19 patients are currently being treated in hospitals. On the other hand, we also saw record numbers when it comes to the number of deaths this week; on Friday, we recorded as many as 41 deaths in just one day, while a total of 797 people have died because of the coronavirus so far.

The majority of the respondents believe that the government should continue its work
The current government is facing challenges that nobody in the world was prepared for. According to the Parsifal poll, the majority of the respondents believe that the government should continue its work at this time (48.2 percent). 24 percent believe that early elections should be called as soon as possible, while only 15.1 percent of the respondents believe that it is necessary to form a government under the auspices of Jože P. Damijan. 12.8 percent remain undecided.

The survey was conducted between the 2nd and 4th of November. It included 730 respondents, of which 49.6 percent were women. The average age of the participants is 51.6 years, and the standard deviation is 15.9 years. The majority of the respondents are from the oldest age group (43.2 percent), a slightly smaller share of participants belongs to the middle age group (36.6 percent), and the smallest number of respondents is from the youngest age group (20.2 percent). The majority of the respondents have completed high school (34.3 percent), followed by those with completed high education or higher (27.3 percent), 24.4 percent of respondents have finished vocational school, and 14 percent have either completed or have not completed primary school. The majority of the respondents currently reside in a small village or hamlet (55.2 percent), followed by those who live in the city (28.2 percent) or a smaller town (16.6 percent). Most of the respondents are from Central Slovenia (26.7 percent), followed by the Podravska (14.6 percent) and Savinjska (12.8 percent) region.
